Description
A right-angle prism has two perpendicular faces and a hypotenuse face. Light entering one short face reflects off the hypotenuse by total internal reflection and leaves through the other, turned through 90°. Entering through the hypotenuse, it reflects twice and comes back parallel to itself (180°). With no reflective coating needed, it is a robust alternative to a fold mirror.
