Description
A wedge prism has two flat faces set at a shallow angle to each other. It deviates a beam by a fixed angle that depends on the wedge angle and the glass. Two wedges rotated against each other (a Risley pair) can steer a beam anywhere within a cone. Wedges steer and align beams in lasers, spectroscopy and imaging systems.
