Description
A plano-convex lens has one flat and one outward-curved surface and a positive focal length. It brings parallel light to a focus or, used the other way round, collimates light from a point source. It is the standard choice for focusing, collimation and magnification in cameras, projectors and laser systems. For the least spherical aberration, face the curved side towards the collimated beam.
